During Fall/Winter 2012/2013 the Orchestra della Svizzera italiana is in concert in Lugano, with celebrated conductors and soloists, performing two important seasons organized and broadcasted by RSI Radiotelevisione svizzera: the Concerti d’autunno di Rete Due and the Concerti dell’Auditorio. This year sees at Palazzo dei Congressi di Lugano, one of the most awaited performances: Maestro Vladimir Ashkenazy conducts Debussy, Ravel and Šostakovi?. OSI joins the Orchestra Sinfonica del Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana performing the celebrated Symphony No. 6 by ?ajkovskij. During the show after, it takes place a suggestive performance “La febbre del giovedì sera” (Thursday Night Fever) where a few OSI players will perform joining electronic music deejays.
Concerti dell’Auditorio season 2013, takes place in the historical RSI room, paying omage to the Verdi bicentenary with one of the most successful conductors in the opera field: Nello Santi. Four are the concerts conducted by Nello Santi, including symphonic pieces, ouvertures and ballabili, chosen from the opera repertoire. On January 24th and 25th, as on March 22nd the concerts are dedicated to Verdi, while on March 1st Nello Santi conducts pièces by the major verista opera composers. The two seasons see also the performance of other prestigious conductors, among which: Donato Renzetti, Hubert Soudant, Alexander Vedernikov, Heinz Holliger, Jurai Val?ua.
