The origins of the resort go back to the first half of the 19th century when Francesco Righetti started a farmhouse in the plains of Scarlino, in the heart of Tuscany Maremma.
Subsequently his heirs acquired new land to grow new olive groves in addition to the older ones that had been there for centuries.
The Scarlinese olive is currently the dominant variety grown in Col di Sasso Resort. This variety is specific to this particular area in the heart of Tuscany Maremma, and it has been saved and protected by Carlo Righetti, according to the principles of conservation of arboreal species.
From this ancient variety the Tuscan company continues to produce a greatly appreciated oil. The current owner, Luisa Righetti, is working with the Institute of Arboreal Species of Pisa under the direction of Prof. Guerriero to launch a plan to recover and replant the variety, while the historical buildings of the estate have been converted into 3 charming resorts.
THE MAGIC ATMOSPHERE OF THE APARTMENTS - In Col di Sasso Estate there are a total of 11 apartments of different sizes, restored from the original stables, ideal for a great holiday in Tuscany Maremma.The apartments vary from 50 to 90 square meters, with a living room, one or two bedrooms and one or two baths with shower and hairdryer and a fully equipped kitchen - either in a separate room or as part of the living area.
On one or two floors, the apartments are equipped with all the comforts, air conditioning, heating, TV, an outside area furnished with a table, umbrella and chairs and there is a barbecue area available for all our guests. On request we can add free baby coat.
Some apartments have a working fireplace: a perfect location for wonderful holidays in Tuscany Maremma.
ACTIVITIES AND SERVICES IN THE FARMHOUSE - One of the peculiarities of Tenuta Col di Sasso is the staff, extremely committed to ensure a relaxing stay in the farmhouse, as well to help hosts to organise a range of activities during their holiday in Tuscany.
The farmhouse offers 3 outdoor swimming pools, a covered barbecue area, wonderful walks among the venerable oaks and olive trees besides all the other services offered at Campo di Chiara: an ‘Al fresco’ Tuscan restaurant, a bar by the swimming pool, reading and meeting rooms, a TV projector with maxi screen and a playground for the younger guests.
In the farmhouse reception there are information displays that will help you to organise day trips to the surrounding country, in the marvellous Tuscany Maremma, horse riding or boating with a skipper, bicycle rentals, scooters, motorcycles, quad bikes, paddleboats and boats or to relax at the renowned Golf Club of Punta Ala and Golf Club Toscana Il Pelagone.

Tenuta Col di Sasso risale all’inizio del ‘800, ed è un’oasi di pace. Francesco Righetti, acquista un primo nucleo nella piana di Scarlino. In seguito gli eredi acquistano nuove superfici, da dedicare all’allevamento del bestiame e all’impianto di nuovi oliveti, in aggiunta a quelli secolari già presenti. In particolar modo la pregiata olivastra scarlinese, coltivazione autoctona, e in via d’estinzione. Gli edifici storici della azienda, sapientemente recuperati costituiscono per gli ospiti un soggiorno di charme. Il nesso con Assoii - Suisse, sorge anche grazie allo spirito imprenditoriale della proprietaria Luisa Righetti, la quale, si sente vicina, per spirito imprenditoriale e passioni, a quelli che sono i valori dello statuto. Questo “sogno sospeso tra la luce del mare e l’ombra degli ulivi” oltre a presentarsi come una dimora di charme, è anche un luogo ideale per il business e fungerà come sede di incontro per tutte le imprese dell’area maremmana che desiderano associarsi ad una realtà internazionale. |
